Pilar Soler

CURATORIAL RESEARCH RESIDENCES

Pilar Soler is an art historian and independent art curator who has collaborated with several institutions in both Spain and Portugal. She has been responsible for coordinating or directing projects such as la Sala Verde at Centro de Arte Contemporâneo Carpe Diem Arte y Pesquisa in Lisbon, the Chimenea program at La Casa Encendida in Madrid or the curator residency program Tabacalera Estancias of the ministry of culture of Spain.

Pilar also co-directed the art-space Rojo Maquina in Madrid from 2006 to 2009, and curated the site-specific project Pueblo en Vivo exhibited at several art festivals such as the 2007 Festival de Arte Interferencias in Barcelona. She has also curated the photography exhibitions Instanánea: Fotógrafos latinoamericanos de la colección Carpe Diem and Estudio cromático para el Azul, both part of PhotoEspaña 2015. Her latest work as a curator was the exhibition El ojo eléctrico at La Casa Encendida in Madrid, opened in October 2019 until January 2020.
