EDUCATION AND ARTISTIC MEDIATION RESEARCH RESIDENCES

Julia Romero Arancibia was born in 1983 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since the age of 8 she lives in Chile, where she has completed all her studies. Since she was 8 years old she has lived in Santiago de Chile, where she has completed all her studies. She has a Bachelor of Arts with a mention in Sculpture and a Master of Visual Arts from the University of Chile. She has developed a professional path in the field of artistic education working at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of Chile as Coordinator of the Education Unit and, independently, she has participated in implementation programs of the Cultural Policy and Visuals Arts (2017-2022), together with the Macro Area of ​​Visual Arts of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage. She has participated and coordinated projects both in the Metropolitan Region and in 10 regions of Chile, emphasizing on expanding the knowledge of the Contemporary Visual Arts, proposing them as a methodology for social transformation since it proposes relevant experiences both in formal education and in the audience development. Her performance is characterized by installing the idea of ​​the artist as an activist within the community that promotes reflection and empowerment from the Arts and thus contributes to the enrichment of learning processes in order to effectively reinforce the skills necessary for this XXI century, that is, the promotion of critical thinking, logical reasoning and socio-cultural awareness.
