Guinho Nascimento, age 33, was born in Guarulhos, São Paulo, Brazil. He is an Educator, Visual Artist and Dancer, who graduated from the Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul with a degree in Visual Arts in 2013, and the Contemporary Dance at Escola Viva de Artes Cênicas, in 2015.

He currently works as Visual Arts educator at Ateliê Escola Acaia. He has dedicated himself to drawing, engraving, painting, performance, and cinema having as an interest and motivation for his creative process, everyday life, African religions and the racialized body in the Diaspora.

He produces drawings in notebooks that serve as a source of his relationship with the world. They are individual and collective records of his movement in the city and everyday life. They are stories that unfold in different languages, resulting in expressive reflections.

In dance, he creates crosses between break, Brazilian popular and contemporary dance, investigating expressions of the diasporic body, with movement as a vital expression of axé. He has been involved in several dance shows as both a performer and a creator.

Guinho participated in two artistic residencies in the City of Munich, Germany, sponsored by Plataforma PLUS (2016) as a dancer and choreographer. In 2018, he participated in the PLUS-AFRO-T residency with eight other young Afro-Brazilians and Mozambicans. He has also been featured in several group exhibitions, and he had his first individual exhibit at Centro Cultural Olido, in São Paulo, in 2018.

He was an actor and co-writer of the short film “Nuvem Baixa” (Low Cloud), released in 2019. In 2022, he created the show "Gorée: Where the Old and the New Meet", and in the same year he presented an exhibition titled "Nos Traz Cura" (It Brings Healing), at the Arte Luis Guimarães Gallery, in São Paulo.
